We are so proud to be having Sarah Ayton OBE, GB Sailing, Double Olympic Gold Medallist as our guest speaker; Sarah will be participating in a whole day of activities with you, giving you a chance to really get to know her and pick her brains to find out how she has been so successful, what makes her tick and what keeps her motivated. Later in the evening we’re happy so say that Sarah will be talking with you all about her ‘story’ and running a Q & A session.
Not only is Sarah a double gold medalist, but she has recently turned her hand to a different type of extreme sport…Horse riding. She recently took part in a charity Novice race and showed that you really can, with the right mentality, achieve your goals and succeed if you put your mind to it. Have a look at her journey here.
“My parents encouraged me to believe I could achieve anything if I worked hard enough. I took a no compromise approach and from a young age, was prepared to do whatever it took to achieve my goal. By the age of 18 I had become Britain’s most successful female single-handed sailor winning Silver at the ISAF Youth World Championships. I went on to win my first Olympic Gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.”
