I’ve been training regularly with Katy from Zest24 for a few years now. I initially decided to work with a PT because I was unhappy with my own progress in the gym, and had recently given up playing netball due to persistent pain and frequent injuries during games, so I had started to see my body fat and weight creep up slowly. I wasn’t eating enough of the right foods, hardly ever ate breakfast, and compensated my lack of calories during the day by eating loads of quick and easy carbs in the evening and my metabolism, as I approached 40 was really suffering. I felt sluggish and unfit. Well not anymore!
Katy’s focus on strength and resistance training, coupled with injections of cardio and high intensity interval training has been incredibly effective. I’ve lost body fat, and gained muscle, with an obvious change in muscle tone and shape across my upper and lower body. I’ve worked out, with Katy’s help, a way of eating which works for me and which makes it easy to control my weight.
Going into my forties I feel stronger and fitter than ever and even better, I’ve been able to start playing netball again. The strength training seems to have strengthened my back, hips and knees and I can now withstand the high impact nature of netball. I no longer need to strap up with supports and braces, and I also have the endurance to play full games against girls in their mid-twenties!
Katy has a holistic view of training, she offers great nutrition advice, can design easy to follow and effective diet plans if weight loss is what you are looking for, and regularly switches up the sessions in the gym to keep them fresh and fun and interesting. She pushes me harder than I could ever push myself and I absolutely love working with her.
